President of ICON Functional Services
Mr. Colin Stanley is President of ICON Functional Services, ICON’s dedicated functional outsourcing service line. ICON’s functional services include strategic resourcing, delivered under our DOCS brand; FSP; and government sponsored research. Mr. Stanley has over 20 years of CRO industry experience. He joined ICON as a Project Manager in 2001 and since then has held a range of roles of increasing responsibility, which has enabled him to develop extensive operational, functional, and geographic expertise. His roles in ICON have included Chief Operating Officer of DOCS; Vice President, Clinical Operations, Asia Pacific; Director of Clinical Operations, US; and Head of EU Data Management. Mr. Stanley also led a global, cross-divisional, process improvement initiative within ICON. Mr. Stanley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology from Dublin City University.
VP of Operations EMEA
Josée Paradis, Vice-President of Operations for EMEA, joined DOCS in January 2010. She was originally responsible for France, the UK and the Nordics, and in early 2011, added the rest of Europe to her territory prior to becoming VP in 2012.
Based in Paris, Josée has held international leadership roles in the scientific and clinical staffing and recruitment industry for more than 15 years where she has successfully launched and supported operations in North America, Europe, Australia and Singapore. Prior to joining the staffing industry, Josée spent 10 years in sales and BD roles in the life science sector. Josée’s academic background includes a B.Sc. followed by graduate studies in Molecular Biology at the University of Guelph in Canada.
VP of Operations APAC
As Vice President of Operations Asia Pacific, Paula oversees DOCS expansion in this region. Since 2011 she has been responsible for the set up and management of a team of professionals to provide clinical and medical resourcing solutions to industry clients within Japan and APAC.
Based in Australia, Paula has over 18 years of industry experience, working across pharmaceutical, CRO, biotechnology and medical device companies in the UK and Asia Pacific. She also has more than a decade of resourcing and staffing experience. Prior to her current position Paula served as Vice President, Operations Japan & Asia Pacific for i3.
Finance Business Partner
James Houlihan is responsible for financial and commercial aspects of the DOCS business. He joined the Executive Team in 2014 with a view to continuing the global expansion plans.
James has over 10 years within the CRO sector. Prior to joining DOCS, James held Finance Roles within Clinical Research Services, Laboratory Services and Data Management.
Prior to joining ICON in 2005 James held Finance positions within the retail and construction sectors.
James graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Liverpool John Moores University. He completed his articles with Grant Thornton and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Vice President of Commercial Services
Mark Cooper is Vice President of Commercial Services for DOCS and globally responsible for the business development team engaging clients and developing value-driven solutions to facilitate clinical development outcomes. Mark has almost 20 years' experience in the CRO industry both in operations and commercial roles including 10 years' experience in the Strategic Resourcing/FSP industry, working in global roles both in the US and Europe.
Vice President, Operations
Jonathan Harris, PhD, Vice President, Operations. Jonathan has over 18 years experience in the industry including roles as Director of Clinical Operations and Director of Project Management where he has gained extensive experience with successful delivery of global clinical programs including both early and late phase environments. Jonathan has also had significant FSP program delivery experience over the last few years and has overseen the operational execution of a global clinical project management FSP and a global monitoring FSP including transition of activities from both the client and other CRO providers.
Vice President, Operations
Debbie Gilmore, Vice President of Operations, has 20 years of clinical research experience, focused on global project management and risk-based monitoring. Her therapeutic specialties include oncology / hematology, neurology and cardiovascular / metabolic. Debbie has held leadership roles in the US and APAC, with global responsibility for successful cross-functional delivery of clinical trials.
In 2012, Debbie moved from ICON Clinical Research Services to ICON Functional Solutions to lead global Functional Service Partnerships (FSP). She has been responsible for FSP strategy, implementation and delivery of engagements from 20 to 800 staff globally, across a diverse range of functions, including project management, monitoring, data management, statistical programming, eTMF and regulatory. Based in the US, Debbie holds a BS in Chemistry and MBA from Vanderbilt University.
